Hope to actually get back to writing regularly.  I had forgotten how much more alive and how much healthier I feel when write on a regular basis than when I do not.  I would also like to take this time to say, Thank you to those who liked my poetry post from yesterday, “Expense“.  It sort of made my “lazy day,” which was much-needed, both the likes and the lazy.

I’m back, I know I’ve been gone for a very long time, alas life does tend to interfere with much.  So update, until yesterday I have not written anything since the last time I posted back in September.  I am exhausted at the moment and slightly brain-dead due to lack of sleep on top of a new job.  Either way, I am still going to do my best to get some actual writing done especially on my days off which are currently in flux.  Meaning they change my schedule weekly and I have to deal.

That being said I am thrilled to have a chance to write again and I plan on writing a great deal more and I cannot wait! Got inspired for a new story, which I started writing yesterday.  No, I did not post it yet, because life interrupted yesterday and I was barely able to get it started.  No I have not forgotten about my other series, nor have I forgotten about the essays I wish to write, nor any of the other pieces that are currently sitting in the drafts folder.  Much to do and much to write.  Now that I have a bit more stability in my life (my sister’s wedding and honeymoon are over and I am free of that insanity) I can actually get my mind to work some of the time.  Wish me luck and happy reading and writing to you all!

First time I’ve gotten a chance to just chill in a long time, and decided to pop on and throw a post up.  While I was on I figured I see how long ago was my last posting of my writing and I was shocked.  It has been nearly a month.  All I can think of to account for my lack of writing is that I have been too busy to get online.  Now for the few of you who were actually enjoying my writing, fear not it wasn’t the normal kind of busy and this shouldn’t happen often if ever again.  The reason for the business was prep for my sister’s wedding (yesterday) and the stress that it entailed.  Being sister of the Bride I got the brunt of it.  So now that the insanity is finally ended and I have time to think coherently nevermind straight, back to the joy of writing for me.

On that note, I’ve got quite a few ideas bouncing around in my head, as well as a desire to get back to the series I was writing and work on the essay series I had mentioned in previous posts long ago when I had time to get online for something that didn’t involve the wedding.  Anyway, enough writing about writing, time to write!  Happy reading and writing to you all!

Once again I find myself in complete and utter agreement with Virginia Woolf on the matter of A Room Of One’s Own.  Specifically the line I used for today’s Quote Of The Day.  You should read her work.  She is a phenomenal writer.  As a matter of fact I think I shall go track down my copy and reread it.  Happy Reading all!

Side note, I am trying to figure out what I want to read next, feel free to comment suggestions.  Hemingway is always an option, but I am not sure if I want to deal with something that serious.  I may just stick with some short story anthologies in the mean time till I calm down a bit.  I figure once I know for sure one way or other about being hired I will be better able to settle down reading wise.

I have been thinking about some facts regarding my writing for some time.  I love fantasy/science fiction, yet I’ve noticed most if not all of my finished writing does not fit into those categories.  Still gathering information and processing the thought waves.  Let me know what you think.  I love analyzing my own brain thoughts.  Time for the slumbering, got to be well rested for my interview!  Ciao Belli!

I think that may be part of the reason why I have had a bit of writer’s block.  I have been trying to avoid the mess and so I was thinking about writing too much in an attempt to not think about cleaning.

I think the reason why I was able to write anything was because today was a break day from the cleaning.  No, I am not that lazy, and it was not quite that bad, I was just sore from moving my furniture around cleaning things from the past three days.  While my furniture is light enough for me to move it around, it is still rather heavy and large.

Wow, guess I really needed to get that off my chest, since I got really off topic with this post.  Anywhoosil, much to do, just wanted to post something when I realized how long it has actually been since I had posted something last.  Happy Reading and Writing to you all!

A short while ago, I realized something.  “A Sharp Knife” and “Ottoman In The Kitchen” were the first two short-stories/short-shorts/flash fiction I have finished in years.  Years meaning since 7th grade, when I was 12.  That is over ten years ago.  Scary, I know.

Now please do not misunderstand,  I have written things and even finished them.  Poetry, fake articles, essays, term-papers, but not my fiction stories.  I have had a block with writing them for years.  I either was not inspired or it turned into some epic fantasy novel, the longest of which stops before finishing chapter 3 (long story, please note all meanings of the phrase).  And that is only the fiction that I am still aware of and occasionally work on.  There are at least a dozen stories I have filed away on my computer that have not been worked on since they were originally began.  So sad.  I have taken writing workshops and tried to organize myself all in a misguided attempt to write and finish what I started, fiction wise at least.  None of it worked.

Therapy and starting the blog, but mostly the blog.  Now you may say how could that get rid of my block?  Simple it did not get rid of the block.  I just forgot about it.  I focused solely on what I was writing, I did not think about the actual writing or the action of writing.  I have begun to dip my toes in the blocked water, if you will, with my new series, “The Words Written Upon My Skin” (the beginning can be found here), but I have realized now what the problem is.  Whenever I begin to think about the writing instead of actually writing, I stop what I am doing.  Click open another tab and read other blogs, put the computer down and read a book, watch tv, exercise, or anything else to get my mind off of writing.  I then come back to it later when I finished whatever I chose to do and am ready to write again.  It sometimes takes me a day to write a few paragraphs this way, but I am preventing myself from getting blocked.

I hope this inspires you and if my unblocking method works for you too awesome.  If not, keep going, you will eventually get back into the swing of things and you will find things will write themselves.  Happy Writing all!

Wind up for the day is as follows:

Had writer’s block for most of the day.  Strictly my own fault.  I was trying to force the writing instead of just letting it flow.

Saw some friends and found an awesome new organic food store that only sells organic products made/grown in my state straight from the farms.  Yes, this is relevant because I am seriously considering starting a healthy(?) food/cooking blog.  That idea is still playing dodgeball in my head and if it survives my thought waves it may come to fruition.

Moving on, ran some errands, including returning unread books to the library.  Made me step back and realize something.  For the first time in my life I am writing more than I am reading and I am freaking thrilled!  You should be too, just because I said so.  I am an awesome writer!  That right there is empowerment for you!  Not sure if any of you agree with the awesome writer statement, but I would if you peoples would leave comments!  Come on I need feedback!  How am I supposed to get better if I cannot see what is wrong?  Be my eyes and see what could be improved!

For the record, I know “Silence” is very dark in nature.  No, it has absolutely nothing to do with my actual life.  It is fiction.

I think that about sums it up.  Time for me to go disturb my blankets.  Haha, I am the only one who gets to do that.  Just ask my ex.
